Locks With Master Key Systems From InstaKey

Restricted, Serialized Master Keys

While several keying systems on the market have the ability to integrate Mastering capabilities, InstaKey’s Master Key System stands out from the rest. Master keys existing within an InstaKey® Key Control Program are created on a restricted keyway, which means key blanks are not available on the open market. Because of this restriction, keys are nearly impossible to copy without using the proper avenues to do so (factory direct or through a National Distributor). Keys cannot be taken to a local hardware store or locksmith and be duplicated.

These Master keys also have unique identifiers on the back that are exclusive to each key. Key serialization allows for keys to be tracked to individual key holders, and information about that key and what it can access is available 24/7 via InstaKey’s cloud-based key tracking software platform.

Rekeyable Lock Technology

When a Master key goes missing, whether it is lost, stolen or accidentally misplaced, there’s a sense of urgency to get locks secured and prevent any unauthorized entry as a result. To do this successfully, any locks that the missing Master key had access to, need to be replaced so that access is disabled. Typically, this process can take days to weeks to achieve depending on what exactly that Master key had access to, which leaves locks compromised in the interim.

With InstaKey’s rekeyable lock technology, locks can be reset immediately with the simple turn of a key! Using a special “step-change” key, locks can be reset without the removal of any hardware, preventing otherwise possible breaches from occurring. Simply insert the step-change key and turn it 180° in all compromised locks. Once the locks have been successfully rekeyed, the missing Master key will no longer have access to those locks. New keys are sent out with expedited shipping for those individuals who still require access to the locks, saving dramatically on the time typically spent rekeying a Master level key system. InstaKey’s rekeyable lock technology provides the ability to rekey independently on different User levels, so when a Master rekey is performed, all other key levels remain unaffected; only the Master level is negated.
